Update at the Flip House Jan. 16, 2015

The office drywall is up on the ceiling and I have it taped and mudded!  Granted I need to sand it and mud it a couple more times to get everything nice and smoothed out but at least the first coat is put on.  The good thing about this room is there's not much of a ceiling, especially since we ripped out a portion of it where it hung next to the stairs, so it shouldn't take me long to get it done and ready for paint.

The ceiling in the office doesn't look hugely different other than the circled area below (taken from the second story) is the portion of ceiling that we ripped out to open it up some more.  Also it no longer has laths and plaster as that has been removed and replaced with new insulation and drywall.

Here are some more befores:

And again here's what it looks like as of right now:

We're coming along slowly but surely!  I love to see the house being put back together instead of torn apart.  It makes you motivated to see what it's finally turning into.

A Little Bit of Randomness:
  • I'm so happy for this break in weather!  It's so nice to see some of the ice melting off the driveway so it's not a death sentence when I get out of my car.
  • Tuesday is the one year anniversary of my very own business!  I'm hoping to form a second business once we get one or two houses flipped so that I'm not running my bookkeeping, my blog, my book, and house investments all under one business.  I do all of my own taxes so I'm not looking forward to having to file three separate returns, but it's par for the course in order to keep my assets separate.  I've come so far in one year and I'm so excited to see what 2015 brings!
