So much has changed for me since my last life update which was on November 25, 2015 so I'm definitely overdue. I'm not sure what I have touched on in previous posts and what I haven't so I will just include everything I can think of at the moment....
1. As of April of 2016 I have decided to become a pescatarian which means I do not eat meat but do eat fish. This was not an overnight decision but one I have been struggling with pretty much my entire life. It all started from having to eat our own chickens as a young child and progressed to people tricking me into eating food that made me uncomfortable. A popular method was putting deer meat into foods like spaghetti and telling me it was beef until after I had consumed it. Then it was like "gotcha" or "tricked ya" and was just so funny to them.

Am I No Longer a Tree Hugger?
A few months ago I asked myself, "Am I no longer a tree hugger?" I felt I had to question my ethics when I decided to cut down a huge white pine tree in my front yard. It turns out the question was not such a simple one to answer.
Let me start from the beginning. A year or two after I moved into my house I got a lovely little postcard from the local power company. The purpose of the postcard was to inform me a tree trimming company would be coming into my subdivision soon to trim tree branches that need to be removed. I didn't think too much about it until I got home and saw this:

Life Update, I'm Moving!!!!
I've been keeping this a secret for a couple of months now and I finally closed on a new house this past Monday. So yes, I'm moving and I'm so excited! It's a house on a lake and it has a little over 25 acres so I'm super pumped about the bigger yard since I have a lot of animals that need space to run. It's a 4 bedroom 4.5 bath house which is perfect because that will give me a guest room, office, and I'm going to turn one of the smaller bedrooms into a closet similar to what I have now.
I definitely need to give it my own touch though as some of the rooms have wallpaper and I can't stand wallpaper. But with everything I'm learning over at the flip house I should be able to do all of the wallpaper stripping, painting, and updating myself to help save money.
I went over there this morning and I completely forgot to bring my camera so the photos below were taken directly off the realtor's website:

A Very Important Blog Update
I've been thinking about my blog over the past couple of weeks and I've decided to make a change to it. Currently I find I blog when I feel particularly inspired or something is going on that I feel I need to share. The problem with this method is there is no "plan" and every post is random and sporadic. Some weeks there's no posting at all and some weeks there may be two.

An Adult's Review of Act Kids Bubblegum Blowout Mouthwash
Let me preface this post by saying I hate to mess with my teeth. Basically my oral hygiene routine consists of brushing my teeth at night before bed and that is all my friends. No morning brushing, no afternoon brushing, no flossing, no mouthwash, no nothin extra. You see, I've always wanted to be a flosser (the dental kind not the kind described below by Urban Dictionary...although that would be cool too).

Buster's New Condo
Buster the Lop Eared Bunny wanted me to share photos of his new two story condo on my blog. He's so proud of his new place and he has tons of room to move about now, but before we get to the details here's what it looked like straight outta the box.

Meet the Newest Member of My Family!
I named him Buster and he is a four month old Holland Lop rabbit. I found him on Craigslist and picked him up at a Shell station in a nearby town last Wednesday. He wasn't handled much so I've been working with him, but as you can see he let me put him on his back the first day I brought him home (yes, that is his giant foot on the left hand side of the photo)!
He's getting used to his cage, which is on my front screened in porch. It's perfect because I can let him out to hop around the porch safely and when he's ready to go to bed he hops back into his cage and I close it when I see him inside. I ordered him a rabbit hutch off Amazon and it will be here tomorrow so he will have his own two story condo very soon. Check back because I will post more pics when it is assembled and in place!

Free Printable Christmas Gift List
Since Thanksgiving is near I've been thinking more and more about the upcoming Christmas holiday and every year I like to stay organized and on top of my gift shopping. To simplify things I like to refer to a master gift list where I can jot down who I need to buy for, what I would like to give them, where I need to go to get said gift, and if I have it wrapped or not.

The Great Mouse Detective
For the past several weeks I've had a little mouse friend in my house. His only objective of each day was to climb up the side of my fireplace from the basement and climb my pet bird Gizmo's cage to eat his food in the middle of the night.
So I set out to Menards to get a trap and I stood there for at least ten minutes debating on what trap to get. I just couldn't will myself to reach for anything other than a live trap no matter how long I stood there. I brought it home, set it up in the basement, and placed a peanut butter cracker inside. Weeks went by to no avail so I moved it up into the living room and placed it on the floor next to Gizmo's cage. Still nothing. I even took Gizmo's food and trailed it up to the trap yet every morning it remained empty.
A few days ago I started removing Gizmo's food at night just to keep him from crawling into his bowls and leaving mouse remnants behind. Last night he was obviously hungry enough to go near the trap because this morning when I checked it I was surprised to see he was in it. He was all curled up tight in a ball and I thought he perished overnight and I was so upset. I jostled the trap looking for any sign of life...and then he moved. I quickly got dressed, hopped in my car, and drove a couple of miles down the road from my house to release him into the woods.
I'm so happy I bought a live trap and I encourage everyone else to do the same. It just makes you feel so good to do something kind even for the smallest of creatures. It was extremely easy to remove him from the house and release him and now he's relocated and living happily in the woods where mice belong :) Here's a photo of my cute little friend before I let him go, peanut butter cracker and all!
