The other day my mom came over to my house with my two nieces to see all of my animals. After a tour of the Hale Zoo they promptly asked me if they could go to the basement to my office/craft room and make a craft (or cuh-raft) as the youngest one says. While we were down there my mom told me to check out the dollar store for Christmas wrapping paper as they have some fantastic ones. However, I'm sure she probably thought I wasn't paying a bit of attention to her in between the "look at this," and the "Aunt Lizzie," requests of the 4 and 6 year old kids who were perched atop my craft table.
I already have plenty of wrapping paper at the moment on my craft room wall, but I found myself in the Dollar Tree the other day getting clear plastic drawer organizers to organize my makeup (what else) and I walked by a big box holding several rolls of wrapping paper. One caught my eye and I nearly fell over when I saw it was designed with The Elf printing. Of course I had to buy it even though I already have six new rolls of Christmas wrapping paper at home. After all, it only has my second favorite movie quote of all time written all over it...."Smiling's My Favorite!"
Of course I bought it even though I figured since it's at the dollar store it's probably low quality paper that's super thin and rips easily. It wasn't until I took a photo of the label for this blog post that I realized it's made by American Greetings and is super nice and heavy. It even has that fancy cutting grid on the back of it for those who are particular about having perfectly straight lines.
Is it me or does anyone else think wrapping paper, gift bags, and greeting cards are absurdly expensive? That is unless you buy them at Dollar Tree, so run right now and get some fancy wrapping paper at your nearest dollar store!
