Update at the Flip House Oct. 12, 2014

We've got a green porch now! 

There was a little glue residue on the concrete from the previous indoor/outdoor carpeting that was glued onto the porch so I chose Dutch Boy Porch & Floor Skid Resistant Latex Enamel in the shade Asheville Vista.  I like the paint as it contains bits of grit that not only keep you from slipping when the concrete gets wet but it also helps disguise the uneven surface.

Here's the thing though, after I painted the porch it rained a few hours later and it rained hard.  And it wasn't supposed to....but you know how this seasonal weather goes.  The paint got washed off the edges of the porch and the steps are pretty much washed clean so looks like I'm going to have to do some touching up.  At least the majority remained intact!  Gotta look on the bright side!  Below is a photo of the damages.

A Little Bit of Randomness:

• Unfortunately two Fridays ago I stepped on a nail at the flip house.  Pretty much 1 3/8" went through my shoe and then subsequently my foot.  I didn't get a tetanus shot because I'm a rebel like that and thought I would just wing it.  It's still a little tender but seems to be healing nicely so fingers crossed that I'm out of the woods.  I'll tell you one thing though, having a nail go completely into your foot and then having to pull it out is a sensation I don't ever want to experience again! 

• I've really been enjoying harvest time this year and have included some pics below.  It reminds me of my childhood so it's nice and comforting to be around all the farm equipment again.

• My lil doggie had a vet appointment on Monday and while my boyfriend and I were there the vet came in and informed us a tornado was spotted and the tornado sirens were going off.  She informed us that we could go down to the basement to do the exam and finish Janie's shots if we felt more comfortable there.  We chose to stay where we were but it was a little nerve racking because the power was flickering.  A first for me! 

• I'm really into the tv show Revenge.  I'm getting caught up to date on all the episodes when I can as I was late to get on that bandwagon but I'm so glad I did.  

• I'm still enjoying my Bubble Gum flavored mouthwash.
