Those who know me know that Halloween is my favorite holiday of the whole entire year and I absolutely love to decorate for it. So here's my fireplace mantle for this year.
The Goretraits came from Menards and I have had these for years as well. I believe they were about five dollars but a lot of stores carry these as well. Basically they are holograms so as you walk by them they change as you can tell from the pics I snapped below.
The black and purple flowers came from the Dollar Tree, the glitter pumpkin came from The Spot at Target, and the tealight holder came from Walgreens last year on sale. The lighted blue apothecary looking jar photographed below came from Target a couple of years ago.
It took me forever to time it right to get a picture of the skulls inside when they lit up.
I just put three things at the fireplace, a glow in the dark skull that came from Target years ago, a tarantula spider from the Dollar Tree, and a glow in the dark spider that you can barely see underneath the log rack.
This is the top of my piano. My mom bought me the wine glasses last year from Yankee Candle. The bottoms of them are open where you can insert tea lights. In the art frame is a printable I found for free off the internet last year. The spider crawling up it came from a necklace, I just took it off the chain. And then of course you can find spider webs everywhere. These are actually real spider webs, I just left them on the piano instead of bothering to clean them up before I spread out my decorations. Just kidding, they came from Dollar Tree.
Above is a overview of my coffee table and my lighted cabinet that used to be in my closet. The cloth on the coffee table came from Target last year at their after Halloween sale and the lantern deal was a gift from my mom years ago, I'm not sure where she got it.
The little haunted houses I put on the ledge of the lighted cabinet came from the Dollar Tree during my second year of college. Even though they are nothing special and these cost only $1 each I cannot bring myself to ever get rid of them. They have such sentimental value to me and I remember going to the dollar store to pick out my very first Halloween decorations. They are what sparked my interest in decorating for Halloween because I thought they were just so fun and I felt so grown up decorating my very first apartment for Halloween.
All the decorations on top of the cabinet came from Target. Some I have had for years and the orange and black pumpkins and two signs were purchased this year and they cost between $1-$3 each.
This post is to show that it doesn't cost a lot of money to decorate for the holidays and make sure you shop the after Halloween sales to stock up on a few things at really cheap prices. Pretty soon you will find you have more decorations than you can even put out each year!
A Little Bit of Randomness:
* Every year I look forward to 13 Nights of Halloween on ABC Family (as you can see on the TV from the pictures above). I print off the schedule every year and I take it very seriously.
* I wish I was a princess. Perhaps I should dress up as one for Halloween.
* It's not a very nice Halloween where I am this year. It is so windy today all my tombstones in my front yard are knocked over right now.
* I collect makeup like some people collect Longaberger baskets. Some of the makeup I have is so pretty I don't want to use it and I just get it out to look at it and put it back in its drawer.
* I don't know what I'd do without Pandora while I work.
* I may or may not have an addiction to YouTube videos. Here's a link to one of my favs right now. The little girl in this video link below is SOOOOO cute!
