And this is what it looks like right now standing in the same doorway. The bit of wood in the top right corner is the bottom of the stairs for reference.
The ceiling is now ripped out. We are going to be removing the part that juts out weirdly next to the stairs (circled in the photo below) and we will be relocating the overhead light fixture so it's more in the center of the room.
Here are some befores of the basement:
And here is what it looks like right now:
It's hard to see in the before photo but there was a wall where it's circled below that was ripped out and that's the wood that's laying in the pile on the floor in the first photo.
The photo that shows the stairs is where the squirrel lockers were and it too had wood walls. I wanted to rid the basement of all the wood to make it look clean, neat, and open.
Next on our list is to finish ripping out the bathroom ceiling and the little bit left here in the basement and then haul everything off to the landfill. That will be our project this week and then after that it will be time to start putting things back together!
Never seen squirrel cut-outs on a door before, let alone a row of lockers with them! I have to say, you do find some interesting projects young lady. Doing a great job & still blowing our minds w/ the DIYer you've become!
