Reading blogs makes me feel good inside. The perfectly set tables, the immaculately organized linen closets, and the label makers! Oh my goodness! Such perfection in one small little piece of equipment. The lives these other bloggers portray give me hope that if I keep trying, one day I will get there. I am confident of that and it starts one day at a time, one project at a time, and one accomplishment at a time. Soon you will look back and say, "Did I really do all that myself?"
Because of my love for blogs I have decided to start my own. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. I don't know what I was waiting for! So here's what you've missed so far. In October of 2012 I got divorced and moved into a 940 sq ft Cape Cod house on 3/4 of an acre. I saw huge potential the minute I stepped inside the small, cozy house. Since I moved in I have painted the walls and ceilings in the master bedroom, the living room, and the kitchen. I ripped up carpeting in the bedroom and living room exposing oak parquet flooring that I refinished and stained. I converted the small second bedroom into a walk in closet to house all my clothes, shoes, and makeup. I replaced all the cabinets and appliances in the kitchen, installed porcelain tile flooring in the kitchen, and created an office/craft/wrapping paper room in the basement in an effort to free up more square footage. I have not yet hired any work to date. Everything I have done to the house so far I have either worked on by myself or had a friend help me. And boy does that feel so good!
Not only will this blog document my home improvement projects but it also combines all my loves into one spot. If it were a soup it would be vegetable soup because after all, who likes plain ole pea soup anyway? And by the way, there will be the occasional food or dessert recipe on here for all my foodies out there! So here's the spot where you can find fashion ideas, cosmetic and skincare reviews, organization tips, home décor ideas, do it yourself posts, and anything else I feel inspired to give my two cents on.
My hope is that this will be a blog to empower you whether you are married, single, or divorced like me. Hopefully I can show you that you can create your own future the way you would like it to be. What are you waiting for? You can achieve anything you set out to do...your success is only limited by your own dreams and desires. So join me on my journey and lets find our true selves along the way!
My house on the day I moved in. Note: the majority of the bushes in front of and around the perimeter of the house have since been removed. Also not pictured is a one car garage attached to the carport on the left.
