Cheap Update to an Old Mirror

Last fall I bought an old dresser off Craigslist for $25.  I wanted to use the drawers on it to create my own custom made dresser that would fit in the "closet" of my closet, if that makes any sense.  Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of what the dresser looked like before I got my hands on it but it looked exactly like this one here only it was in really bad shape.  The drawers were in perfect condition though which was really what I was after.  Just for fun here's a pic of the dresser I made all by myself:

Anyway, once I brought the original dresser home and lifted the mirror off of it I realized just how nice and heavy it was.  I hated the thought of throwing it away so I decided to update it a little bit and paint the trim of it.  Here's what it looked like before I taped the mirror off and spray painted it:

Here's what it looks like now:

I sprayed it with my favorite Rustoleum Universal Metallic Spray Paint in Satin Nickel to match doorknobs and other hardware in my house.  The best thing is it was a total bonus mirror!  So before you pass by that ugly Craigslist find, or your grandma's old hand me down, consider what it would look like painted first because we all know they don't make things as nice and sturdy as they used to!
