I'm not too concerned with the outside but I wanted to dress up the inside a little better because there were rust spots and it just looked dirty and that's not a good look when you store all the little items inside that are supposed to make you feel clean and pampered.
Here's a before:
And here's what it looks like now:
Seriously, I smile every time I get in here now. Even though I did this project about a month ago, I'm still so surprised when I open it and see how cheerful it is now. It's like every day I keep forgetting I revamped it and it just makes me so happy when I reach in here at the end of the day. This project was free as I already had the contact paper on hand to line the back of the cabinet and it only took me ten minutes to complete. All I had to do was cut the paper down to size, empty the contents and remove the shelves, apply the paper to the back of the cabinet, and then put everything back in place.
It's the little details that we don't do because we think it's going to take forever but it really doesn't. And when you like a space and it makes you happy, you are ten times more likely to keep it neat and orderly. It's all about putting aside ten to fifteen minutes of your time to make something you currently have just a little bit better and enjoyable. So if you have an ugly cabinet that makes you cringe every time you open the door then take it from me and use a few minutes out of your day to prettify it. You may just find that what it does to your disposition is well worth the effort!
