Lovin' Me Some Chipotle Chicken Mac & Cheese
The other day I was in the grocery store wildly throwing frozen meals into my cart to take with me to work for my lunch (and working up a total sweat while doing it I might add). I generally don't give my frozen meals much thought so as long as they look good on the box and say something like "low calorie" or "natural" I tend to gravitate towards them when I'm making my selections.
I was getting a little bored with my routine Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisines and I wanted to live on the edge a little bit and try something out of my comfort zone. I know, I'm so bad to the bone it should be illegal to act this way. So I stopped in front of a section I had never heard of before called evol. I assume this is Love spelled backwards and my eyes fell on the words "All Natural" written in the bottom right corner. So I quickly scanned the pictures of the meals they carried and selected their Chipotle Chicken Mac & Cheese.
I'm not a huge mac and cheese fan but the picture looked so good with the crumbly bits on top so I decided to take a risk and go for it. I'm sure you can tell I'm not a gambler by now.
Here's what the box says,
Tubetti pasta, creamy cheddar cheese sauce and tender white meat chipotle chicken - All topped with an insanely tasty corn tortilla crumble.
Here's what my tummy says,
Yuuummmmm
I'm definitely repurchasing this the next time I go to the store! And I will tell you what else I like about this brand that I didn't realize until I opened the box...the meal comes in a compostable bowl and I love that! Not only for the environment but I know when I heat it up in the microwave I don't have to worry about the toxins produced from the plastic bowls that all of my other frozen meals come inside. It also contains no artificial ingredients, comes in a 35% recycled box, and most importantly the chicken included in my meal are antibiotic and hormone free and fed a 100% vegetarian diet. So yeah, I'm sold and I am definitely going to try some of the other meals this company sells! And I'm going to buy a lottery ticket tonight because I just feel lucky today.
